Project Scope:

This landscaping project began with a beautiful design created by Wagner and Company Landscape addressing all the owners’ objectives to create their own paradise in Pray, MT.

A sustainable, easily maintained pathway was constructed from a Belgard Urbana product. This product is not only beautiful, but creates a smooth walkway and a surface that is easy to push snow in those harsh winter months. The custom built outdoor kitchen was constructed from East Coast granite with a gorgeous Pennsylvania Blue stone counter top. The outdoor kitchen was complete with a Twin Eagles grill to serve delicious BBQ dinners for many years.

Low maintenance flower beds were created using native Montana plants that add color and creativity to this natural landscape. A beautiful cool season Kentucky Bluegrass made this landscape a paradise that can be lived in for a lifetime.

Project Scope:

Nestled in the mountains of southwest Montana, the project was centered around creating an area that reflected the beauty that surrounded it. With this in mind, this retreat was designed to be completely native, while still providing the residents with the lowest maintenance possible.

A stone patio was constructed with natural stone. Framed by area moss rock, this patio provides quiet relaxation for an evening underneath the Big Sky of Montana. Surrounding the patio is a native mix of wildflowers and native prairie grass. This concept creates a flow from the patio to the surrounding mountains and nearby river.

Project Scope:

This unique Southwest Montana landscape project centered around the desire to gather with family. The owners wished to create an area that was easily accessible around the entire house while keeping in mind an easily maintained setting.

Paver pathways and a patio were constructed to allow for a smooth and durable walkway with very little maintenance. A fire pit was created for family to gather around and enjoy a cool Montana evening. With ample space for outdoor entertaining, a true retreat was created.

The front entrance was framed with moss rock collected off the ranch and landscape beds filled with shrubbery, a variety of trees, and beautiful flowers make this entrance stand out.

A driveway retained with Belgard Belair block allows for a defined entrance to this amazing property.

Key Objectives:

• Create a large outdoor dining area for guests to enjoy their meals and congregate.
• Seclude the area so guests can have privacy from other guests passing by on near-by paths and roads.

Project Scope:

This project had many aspects that created a challenge to design. In order to encompass the size needed to accommodate guests and seclude each table from other guests, a unique design was created. Wagner & Co. formed a large patio in an irregular shape to allow for planting all around to achieve seclusion. A particular distressed paver was used to accent the rustic design of this 5-star historic ranch. Large moss rock boulders placed around the patio offer a solid look, naturalizing the setting. A berm created next to the patio changes the elevation and character of the area. Native plants tie the beautiful location back into the forest that surrounds it.

Location: Melrose, Montana

Key Objectives:

1. Reconstruct an outdoor fireplace and living area
2. Redesign existing landscape around the house with proper grade and drainage
3. 2 areas designated for family volleyball and horseshoe tournament area
4. Apple orchard and 10 acre underground sprinkler was also added around the perimeter of the property to enhance its year round beauty

Project Scope:

After carefully assessing the needs of our clients it was decided to remove the old fire-place that did not work and move the new one to a location easily accessible from the house. The new design incorporated a larger fireplace (6’ across) with a large covered wood box. The opposite wing includes a commercial BBQ unit with a bar top behind the backsplash. It is constructed of native river rock found nearby and a flagstone cap. Hidden LED strip lighting accents the structure in the evening.

The patio was dry-laid with tumbled roman pavers, the product will last several lifetimes without cracking or discoloring. The area extends around the bar and transitions seamlessly into the lawn area.

500 yards of amended topsoil was added to fix drainage issues and improve the existing soil. A perfect grade gradually slopes, so the lawn is just right to play on and use with large gatherings.

A center island was stripped, soil screened and amended, and re-graded for an area to accommodate a horseshoe tournament. Underground sprinkler complete with a new bark mulch bed around the trees re-incorporates this property back into its native surrounding. A 14,000 lbs. boulder was re-positioned for visibility and aesthetics.

The owners also wanted the entire property to remain green through the dry summer months. To accomplish this feat a 10 acre underground sprinkler system was installed, complete with in-line fertigation systems.

In addition to the large sprinkler an apple orchard was planned, to provide privacy from passersby and also for the appearance. Today 82 apple trees ornament the front of the property.
